The Cross of Life
Ra Uru Hu describes the Cross of Life as being “at the very basis of Human Design.”
In a lecture Ra first gave at the Human Design event in Ibiza in 2008, he called this the “skeleton” of a chart. As each component of the Cross is explored in this lecture, we not only begin to see our uniqueness in how we can live and move through our life; we understand the Cross as holding the keys to the holistic experience of life.
What makes up The Cross of Life? In the BodyGraph, the cross is represented by both the Design and Personality Sun/Earth positions, and the lunar Nodes. As we filter the unique life force represented by our Sun’s position, it is received and grounded through the position of our Earth. The Lunar Nodes show the journey we are taking in this life; they set the stage and connect us to the environment that brings us the right experiences, and see the world in a way unique to us.
Together, these elements of The Cross of Life tell each of us what is possible for us, how we are meant to differentiate, and how to live our Design. But the insight they hold for us depends on our ability to understand ourselves through these elements, rather than by letting our mind and the not-self rule our life.
